Children and the Common Cold The ‘common cold’ is caused by viruses that infect the nose, throat and sinuses. A virus is a germ that makes people sick. Young children get lots of colds, some as many as 8 to 10 each year before they turn 2 years old. Colds tend to be more common in fall and winter when children are indoors and in closer contact with each other, so it may seem like your child has one cold after another all winter long

Mama2Mama - Postpartum Adjustment Support
This local peer-led group is a resource for any mother who wants support and information to help her through the postpartum period. Programs include regular group meetings, one-to-one peer support, an informative website, a network of community health resources to tap into, as well as Postpartum Depression/Anxiety awareness and resources. This is a community of mamas; a safe space for you to reach out and get the information and support you're looking for to help you cope with the challenges and struggles of the after-baby days, months and years. Mama2Mama is peer-led and wholly confidential. We offer support and resources/referrals when requested by a mama.
The very best "therapy" for a mama who is sleep-deprived, anxious, worried, frightened, irritated, overwhelmed, sad, struggling (etc., etc., etc…) is social support from peers. This is what we offer you at our friendly, non-judgmental, confidential meetings. Not only will you be able to connect to other "been-there-done-that" mothers, but you have the chance to share, learn, connect, laugh and cry with a caring community. Informal and peer-run, our meetings provide you with opportunity to make new friends, listen to others' stories, network with helpful community resources and learn more about the postpartum experience. Bring your child(ren), have a snack (on us!), and feel welcome and supported. There is no intake or registration. Mama2Mama works in partnership with the following local supports.
